The Ethiopian calendar has twelve months of thirty days and a thirteenth short month, Pagumen, of five days — six in a leap year. The year begins on Meskerem 1, which falls on 11 September, or 12 September in the year before a Gregorian leap year.
The Ethiopian year runs seven or eight years behind the Gregorian year, because the Church of Ethiopia reckons the Annunciation differently from the calculation adopted in the West.

What this list is. These are the dates of the principal feasts and fasts of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church as a whole. They are computed from the Ethiopian calendar and, for the movable feasts, from the Julian reckoning of Pascha used by the Church.
What this list is not. It is not this parish's service schedule. Which services are held on each of these days, and at what hour, must be confirmed by the church. Saint Michael is also commemorated on the twelfth day of every Ethiopian month, which is of particular note for a parish under his patronage — the church should confirm how it keeps that commemoration.
